Showing no fatigue from yesterday's long ride, the JUPITER MX (T135) touring team members woke up today full of energy and were ready to start a new day. Our destination for today is the highland town of Bandung, which is known as a cultural center and a town that has produced many talented singers. It is also Indonesia's third largest city after Jakarta and Surabaya.
The JUPITER MX (T135) tour left Cirebon accompanied by the local "YAMAHA AUTO CLUB (Yamaha owners' club)" and headed for today's destination, Bandung, as one big convoy of some 50 bikes.
The members of the "YAMAHA AUTO CLUB" are used to this kind of touring and were able to maintain a neat and close formation of thirty bikes behind the JUPITER MX (T135) team. When we passed through the towns of Majalengka and Sumedang, the staffs of the local Yamaha dealerships were out in front of their shops waving to us. Those were moments of encouragement in today's relatively uneventful ride.
After that, the JUPITER MX (T135) touring team continued to press on steadily to reach Bandung around noon, just in time for a lunch break. The "YAMAHA AUTO CLUB" members joined us for lunch, which gave us all a chance to communicate and get to know each other better. After lunch it was time for some city touring around Bandung. We toured the city for about 30 minutes, including a stop to refuel. Meanwhile, thunderclouds had gathered over Bandung and, before we knew it, a heavy rain began to fall. Being an unavoidable part of the rainy season, there were knowing smiles among the riders as they arrived at our hotel and removed their helmets amid talk of riding in heavy rains. Tomorrow will be our first GREEN PROJECT tree-planting event of the tour, after which we are scheduled to head for the capital, Jakarta.
To Bandung with the "YAMAHA AUTO CLUB"
